Board & Consortium retreat
Bringing our Board and Elected Official Consortium together is an important part of how PacMtn sets direction, strengthens regional alignment, and stays accountable to the communities we serve. Our September gathering will combine the business of our joint Board and Consortium meeting with dedicated time to look ahead, deepen connections, and shape the priorities that will guide our work across the region.
Event details
This year’s board and consortium gathering begins on Monday, September 14, with an optional orientation and social opportunity, followed by the joint meeting and retreat on Tuesday, September 15.

2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
In-person and virtual attendance available
New board and consortium members are invited to join us for an orientation designed to provide helpful context about PacMtn, the regional workforce system, and the role of the Board and Elected Official Consortium.
Returning members are also welcome to attend for a refresher and an opportunity to reconnect with the structure, responsibilities, and priorities that guide our work.
Dinner and social time
4:00–6:00 p.m.
In-person attendance only
After the orientation, attendees will take a brief tour of the WorkSource Mason County office and learn more about the services, partnerships, and resources available through the workforce system.
After, you're invited to continue the evening over dinner and informal social time. This will be an opportunity for new and returning members to connect, build relationships, and spend time together. Dinner location: Taylor Station Restaurant and Lounge

The morning will begin with networking and a light breakfast, followed by the joint PacMtn Board and Elected Official Consortium meeting.
Board and consortium retreat
10:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
In-person attendance only
Following the meeting, members will spend the remainder of the day in facilitated retreat sessions focused on connection, discussion, and the work ahead.
Go-kart racing and social hour
4:00–5:30 p.m.
In-person attendance only
Members are invited to stay after the retreat for go-kart racing, snacks, and an informal social hour—a chance to connect and close out the day together.

Retreat session 1: The evolution of the Opportunity Model
Review the journey from One Workforce to today's Opportunity Model. Explore the key challenges, strategic decisions, and milestones that shaped the model, and how Board direction, employer engagement, community feedback, and new funding opportunities influenced its evolution.

Retreat session 2: What the data tells us
Examine PY24 and PY25 performance trends, including enrollments, referrals, participant outcomes, resource availability, and cost effectiveness. Compare performance data with system changes to better understand what the evidence tells us and where additional evaluation is needed.
1:45 - 2:30 p.m.
Retreat session 3: Listening, learning, and responding
Review the themes identified through partner feedback, including the Root Cause Analysis, alongside other stakeholder input. Explore how the Opportunity Model has evolved in response through operational improvements, new partnerships, the new One-Stop Operator, the new service provider, and other system enhancements, while identifying areas that continue to be evaluated.

Retreat session 4: Measuring success and what's next
Identify the outcomes, measures, and milestones the Board should monitor over the next six months as recent improvements mature. Discuss what success looks like, what evidence should guide future refinements, and how the Board will continue to shape the evolution of the Opportunity Model.
