Celebrating Community Collaboration: Launching PacMtn’s Local Plan
I am pleased to announce the launch of the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council’s (PacMtn) Local Plan for 2024-2028. This plan reflects the invaluable input and feedback from our community, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed.
PacMtn serves the counties of Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston, covering over 7,000 square miles. We are dedicated to nurturing a dynamic regional workforce where communities, businesses, and industries thrive together. Guided by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Washington State’s Talent and Prosperity for All (TAP) State Plan, our four-year plan focuses on resource optimization, regional cooperation, and addressing local needs.
2024-2028 Objectives
Our primary objective for 2024-2028 is to increase participation in industry-recognized credential opportunities. By enhancing credentialing and training programs, we aim to boost economic success for both employers and job-seekers in our region. Additionally, we are committed to developing and implementing a regional Quality Jobs framework. This initiative will engage both employers and job-seekers in creating high-quality job opportunities that contribute to the overall well-being of our community.
Another key focus of our plan is system integration and delivery. We will work to enhance participation in the regional workforce development system through strategic partnerships that integrate services, data accountability, and resources. By doing so, we aim to create a more cohesive and efficient system that better serves our community’s needs.
Core Elements
Our plan is built on several core elements to ensure its success. These include promoting equitable employment and training opportunities, engaging with industry through data analysis, and advancing technological capabilities in service delivery. We will adopt responsive design principles, standardize best practices, and ensure diverse board membership to represent our community’s varied interests.
Cross-regional economic strategies and alignment with federal and state mandates will guide our efforts, while rapid response readiness will enable us to address emerging needs swiftly. Additionally, we will provide support for micro-enterprises and entrepreneurs, fostering innovation and economic diversity in our region.
Thank you for your support and commitment to our community. Together, we are fostering a future where our workforce thrives, businesses flourish, and our region continues to grow.
Sincerely,
William Westmoreland
