Peter Lahmann

Peter Lahmann, a dedicated board member of the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development (PacMtn) Board, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community development to his multifaceted role. A lifelong resident of Centralia and a distinguished alumnus of Centralia High School and Centralia College, Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and an MBA, showcasing his commitment to educational and professional growth. Currently serving as a Lewis County Economic Representative to the PacMtn Workforce Board, he also wears various hats, including being a Commissioner for the Port of Centralia, President of the Lewis County Historical Society, and serves on the Centralia/Chehalis Career and Technical Education Advisory Board. Peter currently works at for Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs serving as the statewide Apprenticeship Specialist, helping Veterans and Transitioning Service Members navigate apprenticeship pathways when they leave military service.

Peter’s journey with the PacMtn Board began many years ago when he was invited to join as a Labor Representative due to his extensive work in apprenticeship programs statewide. His diverse background and expertise in apprenticeship pathways have proven invaluable to the board, allowing each member to contribute their unique specialties to the collective effort. Peter’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of others is evident in his involvement with the board’s mission.

When asked about the board’s most notable accomplishments, Peter highlights the management of training opportunities for disadvantaged workers in rural areas, where opportunities are often scarce. He expresses pride in the board’s role in organizing Construction Career Day events, empowering youth to explore viable career paths and bridging the gap between education and employment. For Peter, his involvement with the board and its committees signifies an opportunity to collaboratively discuss ideas and find cost-effective ways to provide essential training to neighbors in need.

In the spirit of his grandparents’ timeless wisdom, Peter encapsulates his approach with a poignant quote: “Be a hand and make a difference.” This philosophy, passed down from his grandfather’s days as a rancher, underscores the importance of taking initiative and being a catalyst for positive change. Peter’s steadfast commitment to the PacMtn Board reflects a lifelong dedication to community service, training, and economic development in the Pacific Northwest.
