Now, let’s delve deeper into Jacquelin Earley’s journey, her impactful work as a PacMtn board member, and her dedication to workforce development and bridging the gap between education and industry. Here are her insights and experiences in her own words:

What initially made you become a board member of PacMtn?

Jacquelin Earley: I was asked to join the PacMtn board about six years ago. At the time, I was actively hiring and recruiting for our newest sawmill in Shelton and had been working with our local WorkSource and various community partners.

What work of the board are you most proud of?

Jacquelin Earley: When I became Board Chair, I never envisioned the dramatic change PacMtn would take over those three years. A change in executive leadership roles, followed by a pandemic, and then the retirement of the CEO, are just a few of the unexpected responsibilities added to my volunteer role. I tried to remain a constant and continued to prioritize the organization’s needs with the help of some amazing board members.

What does your involvement with the Board and its Committees mean to you?

Jacquelin Earley: The opportunity to serve on the Board and represent my community, industry, and the voice of employers is very important to me. As my career has grown and changed, I feel my understanding of Workforce Development has grown due to my connection with PacMtn. I am an advocate for rural communities, trades, and youth employment. Having used the resources of WorkSource and partnered with many of the programs PacMtn sponsors, I bring a working perspective.

Lastly, what advice would you like to share?

Jacquelin Earley: If you can do one thing, encourage success in others.
