It is with both fond reflection and heartfelt appreciation that we recognize a cornerstone member of our team, Craig, our esteemed Local Equal Opportunity (EO) Officer. Craig’s journey with Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council (PacMtn) has been one of dedication, growth, and unwavering commitment to fostering equal opportunity within our workforce system.

Craig’s story with PacMtn began in November 2005 when he joined us as an intern temp employee. Over the years, he transitioned into various roles, showcasing his talents and dedication. In January 2006, Craig became a full-time Employment Specialist for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult/Dislocated Worker Programs, marking the beginning of an illustrious career journey with us.

In November 2011, Craig assumed the role of the Local EO Officer for PacMtn WDA, entrusted with the critical responsibility of ensuring compliance and promoting equal opportunity within our organization and our area WorkSource System. Craig’s leadership and perseverance guided us through a period of transition, ultimately leading us to consistently remain in compliance, setting a high standard for EO practices within PacMtn.

Throughout his tenure, Craig pioneered the development of PacMtn’s annual EO trainings, ensuring that our staff members were equipped with the knowledge and skills to promote equal opportunity and nondiscrimination. Craig’s innovative initiatives, such as quarterly “New Hire” EO trainings and the introduction of portable tabletop EO posters, have set PacMtn apart as a leader in EO practices.

Craig’s dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed. In May 2020, he was honored with the William J. Harris Equal Opportunity Award for his outstanding contributions to promoting equal opportunity and eliminating barriers for WorkSource customers across the state of Washington. Craig’s tireless efforts have left a notable mark on our organization and the broader community.

As Craig embarks on the next chapter of his journey, we extend our deepest gratitude for his exemplary service. His professional and personable leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment to equal opportunity have been an inspiration to us all. While Craig may be stepping down from his role as the Local EO Officer, his legacy will continue to shape PacMtn’s values and practices for years to come.
